Double Diamond

Reproduction of early century workwear bought out by Joe McCoy in 1912.

Founded in the late nineteenth century, and later absorbed by the Joe McCoy company, Double Diamond produced tailored workwear for the burgeoning class of urban labourers. Their garments followed the patterns of classical suiting and utilised traditional materials like wool and linen, as prewar workers canted to prize formal conventions over casual fashion. Form the turn of the century, millions of immigrants journeyed across the Atlantic to start a new life on the new continent. Their need for workwear brought Double Diamond into existence, while the brands garments marked the sewing together of old world tradition and new world Ingenuity.
